oh nice, I found him about a month ago but the comments were borked. One of the reasons I liked IW was that he responded to the comments.

He responded to quite a few in the article I just read. Say what you will about Gawker & Kinja, but having a common commenting system across so many different sites sure makes participating in conversations here very nice compared with so many other websites...

I sincerely hope Outside doesn’t force him to work some kind of ultra-environmentalist-at-all-costs angle into every article. That’s the only thing I find tedious about an otherwise excellent mag.

I try not to think about what might become of OPPO, O&E, LaLD, etc. if Gawker (or whoever might own the platform in the future) decides to stop supporting user-created blogs on the platform.

Wes seems to be the type that writes the way he thinks and doesn’t conform to anyone else’s ideas. If anyone tries to control him, he just goes elsewhere. Read his “dogs off-leash in the outdoors” article and you’ll see that he’s definitely not afraid to ruffle feathers. I’m sure there are plenty of other writers & editors at Outside that would completely disagree with what he’s written.

I like Wes, but I have noticed that he’s not the best at taking criticism - ha!
